This lot is the result of an collaboration between 5 producers from Jinotega, Nueva Segovia. Grown at elevations between 1,100 and 1,5000 masl. Gives heavier body and big fruit flavors — think berries and wine — sometimes with a fermenty edge. resistance to coffee leaf rust, and low fertilizer requirements. However, these advantages come with a trade-off, as Java typically produces lower yields compared to other varieties. The coffee benefits from a diverse agroforestry system, with shade provided by various species including Inga, Musaceae (banana family), forest trees, and pine.
