Espresso - Single OriginSingle originCoffee from one traceable place — a country at the loosest, a single farm or lot at the strictest — rather than a blend of sources.. Felipe Luzón farms coffee in the fertile lands of Palanda, in the Southern Amazon region of Ecuador. Historically known as a key cocoa producing area, Palanda is also gaining recognition for high quality coffee, supported by rich soils and favourable growing conditions at altitude. Felipe is one of the region’s pioneering coffee growers, having introduced improved and hybrid Typica varieties and helping to shape Palanda’s emerging coffee profile. His commitment to quality has led to strong results in the Bracamoros Regional Coffee Competition, where his lots have achieved notable placements. Felipe plans to refine his post harvest processing with technical support, aiming to further improve consistency and quality over time. His farm reflects a balance between traditional knowledge and modern practices, producing coffee that speaks to both the terroirTerroirBorrowed from wine: the way a place — soil, altitude, climate, even neighboring crops — expresses itself in the cup, independent of variety and process. of Ecuador’s Amazon and the ongoing evolution of specialty farming in the region.
