100% Colombian decaf coffee using a molasses process to extract the caffeine. No chemicals are used in our decaffeination process. Tends to give clean, transparent cups where origin character shows clearly. Notes: Sugar Cane Devoción uses a decaffeination process that combines spring water and ethyl acetateSugarcane (EA) decafDecaffeination using ethyl acetate derived from fermented sugarcane, common in Colombia. Keeps sweetness well; often labeled 'EA' or 'sugarcane process'. (EA) derived from sugarcane, a naturally occurring compound found in many fruits and vegetables. This process allows for gentle caffeine extraction from the bean with a washing process, avoiding excessive heat and pressure that would otherwise destructure the bean and change the cup flavor. Any residual acetate in the coffee evaporates during the roasting process.
