Region: Kirinyaga, Central Kenya Notes: Blood Orange, Plum & Pear We are so excited to have our first Kenyan coffee. It comes to us from the Farmers Cooperative Society, well known for their high quality beans and meticulous picking and sorting practices. There are several farmers involved with an average of 250 trees each of the Batian, Ruiru 11, SL28SL28A Kenyan variety selected in the 1930s by Scott Agricultural Laboratories, prized for intense blackcurrant acidity and deep sweetness., SL34SL34SL28's sibling selection, also from Kenya's Scott Labs. Slightly less celebrated but hardier, with a similar juicy, complex cup. varietals.
