Fourth-generation producer Cristiana Bustamante brings a measured, deliberate approach to coffee at Fazenda Paraíso. Trained as a veterinarian, she returned to the family business more than 20 years ago, deepening her focus when specialty production began in 2008. Since then, quality has been a continual pursuit shaped by education, experimentation, and a clear sense of lineage. Set in Serra da Pedra Branca, Paraíso combines high elevation, temperate climate, and intact native forest. Yellow BourbonBourbonOne of the two foundational arabica varieties (with Typica), named after Île Bourbon (Réunion). Sweet, balanced, caramel-leaning; parent of countless modern cultivars. is grown alongside other varieties, with this lot processed as a naturalNatural processThe whole cherry is dried with the fruit still on the seed. Gives heavier body and big fruit flavors — think berries and wine — sometimes with a fermenty edge.. Ripe cherries are selected by hand and dried whole in covered greenhouses, moved regularly to manage moisture and ensure even drying. The result is a coffee that reflects both structure and patience. Recognition through AMECAFÉ competitions sits alongside a broader commitment shared by Cristiana and her peers to refine quality year on year.
