Tasting notes
Luz Divia Fierro and Elpidio (nicknamed Sandy and Pillo, respectively) run El Meson, a coffee farm in Acevedo, Huila. They inherited the farm from Pillo’s father, Ángel, and moved there three years ago, planting 46,000 Pink BourbonBourbonOne of the two foundational arabica varieties (with Typica), named after Île Bourbon (Réunion). Sweet, balanced, caramel-leaning; parent of countless modern cultivars. coffee trees on previously unused pastureland. They also grow plantains, yucca, sugar cane, and keep cows. They employ five year-round workers and up to 15 pickers during harvest, ensuring fair wages and good conditions. Pillo handles all processing, from washing to drying the coffee. Sandy and Pillo are committed to high-quality coffee and honouring their family’s legacy through their farming practices. This is our first purchase from Sandy and Pillo and it's safe to say it won't be the last!
