Cherries are delivered by foot, bicycle, or boat, as the station is only reachable via water after a long drive down the lake. Run by COOPAC, a Fair Trade certified cooperative founded in 2001, the station is part of a wider effort to support farmers through agronomy training, livestock programs, and community infrastructure. Sustainability is central to COOPAC’s work. Coffee pulp is composted into fertilizer, and shade trees are planted to protect against erosion. Kirorero showcases how collaboration and careful processing produce vibrant, high-quality coffees like this one.
