Gatura factory bears the name of the village of Gatura, in Nyeri county. This is one of several lots that Passenger had the opportunity to purchase from the “Retro 1984” project: a fascinating collaborative endeavor developed by our friends Peter Mbature, Tim Hill, and Lance Schnorenberg. Most of the lots purchased in the inaugural year of the project were produced by single farmer estates, however, a few were sourced from top-performing factories that expressed interest in participating.
