Tasting notes

Character

Country/Region: India/ Baba Budangiri Varietal: S.795 Processing: Fully Washed Elevation: 1200 - 1300 m.a.s.l. We Taste: Mild Acidity, Subtle Spice, Dark Chocolate Finish Recommended Brew Methods: Hario V60, French Press Baba Budangiri is known to be the birthplace of coffee in India, where Baba Budan smuggled green coffee across from the neighbouring port of Mocha in Yemen, in the 16th century. In those days, coffee was a closely-guarded commodity, only exported in its roasted form to prevent other competing countries from growing their own coffee. Coffee from the Thippanahalli Estate is grown on some of the highest peaks in the region by fifth-generation planters whose family has a history of 230 years in the district and are pioneers in the coffee plantation. This single-estate coffee has a subtle spiciness, nutty overtones and a deliciously rich, chocolatey body.
