Sweet, balanced, caramel-leaning; parent of countless modern cultivars. Process: WashedWashed processThe fruit is removed from the seed before drying, usually with fermentation and a water rinse. Tends to give clean, transparent cups where origin character shows clearly. Notes: Apricot, brown sugar, bergamot, black tea, & florals About: Although Burundi is a very small country, the drive to Ngozi in the north from Bujumbura was quite a journey. Potholes, stray goats, and government motorcades were just some of the obstacles we encountered on our way, but the journey was stunning as we wound our way deeper into the lush green hills. Kibingo station is in the northernmost commune of Kayanza and serves 3515 local producers. All the producers are regularly distributed organic fertiliser and coffee seedlings at or below cost. This coffee is 4C, UTZ, and Rainforest Alliance certified.
