A first-generation producer, Felipe started getting into coffee when he was 16, following his brother around on trips who at the time was working for an exporter. Fast forward several years and Felipe and his brother have purchased their own farm in Antioquia. Chiroso is a rare variety discovered in Urrao, Antioquia and is prized for its complex flavour profile and good productivity. Felipe submitted his Chiroso into COE to showcase it to other coffee professionals, but he never knew it would do so well! >>>>>>>>>>>>>> A first-generation producer, Felipe Henao Triana started in coffee when he was 16, following his brother on trips while working for an exporter. Fast forward several years and Felipe and his brother were able to purchase their own farm in Antioquia. Today they have 25,000 coffee trees with a goal towards 100% organic farming. Achievement unlocked. Did we mention they’re all about the Chiroso Variety? Chiroso is a little-known and rare variety discovered in Urrao, Antioquia. It’s prized for a complex flavor profile and good productivity. Grown at a higher altitude (2,100 MASL), it needs a bit of special care and Trianas have gone the extra mile to make sure the Chiroso gets the love it deserves. We are certain to see more about Chirroso and hope to see heaps more from the Trianas in the future.
