Hacienda Colima sits high on the slopes of the Barva Volcano in the Central Valley of Costa Rica, an area famous for producing incredible coffee. The Hacienda primarily grows sugar cane , but this continues to shift as demand for its coffee grows. Conservation is important to the Castro-Kahle family, and they have acquired 1500 hectares of rainforest for ecological preservation in the areas where they grow their coffee .
