Notes: Turkish apricots, vanilla, & black tea About: We prayed that the rain would hold off for another few hours, but unfortunately it was not to be our day. The rain came down in a blanket and before our eyes the roads turn to mud so slippery that it was like walking on ice. We all decided to give it a shot anyway. We were going to attempt the off-road drive to Gahahe washing station despite the warnings. Our driver gave it his best, but it wasn’t long before we slid dangerously close to the edge of a cliff, over corrected, and became completely bogged. We didn’t make it to Gahahe that day, but thanks to the locals we did manage to make it home. Hopefully 2019 will be our lucky year and we will finally make it to Gahahe at last!
