We passed the time chasing the kids and watching as boats carrying families from the Congo came in; they brought produce to sell in the markets in Rwanda. Eventually our boat arrived. The cows were herded off and we were herded on. The blue sky and clouds reflected in the lake like a perfect mirror. We disembarked at a secluded beach and began a short hike through fields winding up the hill to the washing station. Upon arrival we sang and danced with the workers, after which they led us to the very highest point of Gisheke to look over Lake Kivu in the golden afternoon sun.
