If you purchase any other items in your order, they'll ship separately from our roastery in Portland, OR. About Cool Beans: The Cool Beans project was born out of frustra tion . Far too often, when traveling to origin, we’ve fallen in love with an exceptional coffee - only for it to fall short once it arrives. Coffee is just like any fruit or vegetables that you find at the grocery store , if it’s taken care of during transport, it’ll still taste delicious when it arrives. Shipping often lets us down. It’s out of this, that the Cool Beans project was born. The idea, simply, is to make sure the coffee never gets hot - from the farm all the way to your local cafe or your kitchen counter. To treat the coffee with the respect that it deserves, at every stage of its journey. After 10 years of ideas, discussions, theories, and some dreams - we found a like-minded soul that didn’t think we were crazy. Franz, our friend from Lost Origin in Panama, loved the idea and was eager to test it out. This is our second Cool Beans release, and based on our learnings from last year, we’ve imple mented a few additional steps, to ensure the coffee arrived in tip-top condition. Rather than air shipping right away, the coffee was stored in a climate-controlled cellar, to wait for the cooler months in ATX. We’ve also upgraded the insulat ed packaging, using an industry-leading packaging manufacturer, who has collaborated with NASA. After arriving at our Austin, TX roastery, the coffee was stored in the freezer - and since it was roasted, it’s been kept cool. The final step , shipping in another insulated box, direct to your door. We believe that temperature control is the most important variable to control, and this is the most important step in preserving this exceptional coffee for as long as possible.
