Ibonia Estate is located in Kiambu County, about 13 km north of Nairobi, Kenya’s capital. The red volcanic soils on this estate are well-drained and mineral-rich. The climate is cool, with a colder and rainier period between May - July, resulting in a slower cherry development and longer maturation period. Processing begins with handpicked ripe red cherries, which are pulped on the same day of harvest. The coffee undergoes full fermentation, followed by washing, then is fully dried and stored in well ventilated bins. This coffee has a beautiful structure defined by crisp green guava and apricot, with a lingering raw sugar sweetness.
