Character

The Las Colinas community blend is named after Mozonte in Nueva Segovia, which means "between rivers and hills" in Nahuatl. Known for its fertile soil, rivers, and cloud-covered pine forests, Mozonte is about 235 kilometres from Managua and just 9 kilometres from Caravela’s Beneficio La Estrella in Ocotal. The region produces high-quality coffee thanks to its elevation, micro-climate, and experienced coffee-growing families. The community has strong ties to Nicaragua's indigenous heritage, and coffee is a key part of their culture. Residents also make handcrafted ornaments and clay vessels using traditional techniques. This coffee boasts a lovely mix of flavours, including notes of yellow fruits, citrus, passion fruit, and brown sugar, all with a creamy body.
