    She grows Typica variety coffee cherries that she, along with her husband, tends to each harvest—selecting the ripest cherries, washing and fermenting them for 24 hours in a wooden canoe, and drying them on her mesh-lined patio. Her coffee is bright and sweet, with notes of black tea, cocoa powder, and cara cara orange. Antonia Fuentes’ farm, Rancho La Perla, sits at 1600 meters on the hills of Sierra Sur of Oaxaca.
