The Ninga Hills are by far the most remote part of Burundi we've selected coffees from. Two rivers and a province boarder lie between the hills and the Bukeye washing stationWashing stationA central mill where many smallholder farmers deliver cherry for processing. In Ethiopia, Kenya, and Rwanda the station name (e.g. Idido) often identifies the coffee. where the cherries must be delivered. In the cup we find dark fruits, spice, red tea, and a very uplifting lemon acidityAcidityThe bright, lively, fruit-like sensation in coffee — praise, not a flaw.
