Character

In the Kamba language, Mukuyuni means “under the fig tree,” named after the ancient tree that roots this community in Eastern Kenya’s Machakos County. Mukuyuni showcases the overlooked brilliance of the east: more than 900 smallholder farmers cultivate coffee alongside figs, flowers & honey in a diverse, sustainable landscape. Guided by strong female leadership and meticulous processing, the co-op produces a coffee that’s vibrant and layered — with notes of dried apricot, wildflower honey & passion fruit, rounded by a buttery mouthfeel.
