Character

Descending from the highest peak in Costa Rica, the pine trees lining the steep slopes are slowly replaced by verdant coffee plants. Working across the valley, John Alvarado and his family have been instrumental in changing the reputation of coffee from Brunca. With a focus on modern processing, Corazón de Jesús is a great example of the 'micro mill' model. This is a deliciously rich coffee, with notes of chocolate mousse and caramelised fig.
