This microlot is grown and produced by Pastor Ordoñez, owner of Finca El Placer. He's been producing coffee for 30 years. Pink Bourbon has been labeled as a coffee variety characterized by its pink coloured skin and its unique flavour profile. Over the past few years this variety has been showing up on World Barista competition stages and a growing number of Specialty Roaster menus, however, its genetic origins are a mystery. Once thought to be a spontaneous cross of Red and Yellow Bourbon varieties from the south of Colombia, genetic testing in 2023 showed little relation to Bourbon, but pointed to Ethiopia landraceHeirloom (Ethiopia)A catch-all label for Ethiopia's thousands of indigenous, largely uncatalogued coffee varieties — used when a lot's exact genetics are unknown. stock. Despite the ongoing mystery, Pastor’s expertise has produced a coffee that is unmistakably delicious. This is Fantastico’s second harvest offering by Pastor. We eagerly look forward to future offerings!
