If there was ever a coffee you need to keep away from milk though, this is it.” This varietal is known for it’s floral notes, tea-like bodyBodyThe weight and texture of coffee in the mouth, from tea-like and delicate to syrupy and heavy. Driven by process, roast, variety, and brew method. and it’s complexity and this one has all that, in spades. In the cup, we get big sweet peach notes and huge jasmine florals as soon as we taste the coffee. The lemon acidityAcidityThe bright, lively, fruit-like sensation in coffee — praise, not a flaw. Citric sparkle, malic apple-crispness, tartaric wine notes; light roasts preserve more of it. is sharp but clean and the lack of body is noticeable and intriguing. The tea-like body really highlights the complexity of the coffee and you might detect faint notes of butter and herbs. Geisha is best enjoyed as filter coffee, there’s no doubt about it. Something like a V60 is the way to go. Surprisingly, we were pulling lovely espresso too - the lemon is highlighted and there are so many layers to the flavour. One word of warning, this is coffee that will be completely dominated by milk, and we would only ever recommend drinking it black. Delicious, light and refreshing coffee.
