Notes of lemongrass, wine gums, barley. Ayla Bensa has become one of the standout washing stations in the Sidamo region of Ethiopia - which is historically a powerhouse of a quality and production. It's known for its high altitude, dense micro-climates, and consistent cup quality year after year. This is the first time we have ever been able to source Bensa, but have drank this coffee many many times over the years from esteemed roasters all over the world. In Ethiopia, Kenya, and Rwanda the station name (e.g. Idido) often identifies the coffee. live high up in the Bombe mountains, living as they have for many years & generations on small farms. Like most Sidama farmers’ fields, their "garden farms" sit behind their homes and the farmers tend their crops with their family members. This coffee was sourced in partnership with our friends at Trabocca, based in the Netherlands.
