From producer Samuel Smith Perez we're excited to add Caminos del Inka geshaGesha (Geisha)A rare, jasmine-and-bergamot scented variety originally from Ethiopia's Gesha forest, made famous by Panama's Hacienda La Esmeralda. Routinely the most expensive coffee at auction. to our menu. We had a fun opportunity to taste this coffee with the vendor at the World of Coffee expo back in April, and now we're excited to offer it to everyone. Monthly Subscribers got this coffee (at the best price) in their monthly shipments just a couple weeks ago. Caminos is a ripe mix of peach and orange with a lovely creaminess, as well as a hint of coffee cherry. After selective harvesting of only ripe cherries, the coffee underwent open-tank fermentation for 48 hours. Then it was washedWashed processThe fruit is removed from the seed before drying, usually with fermentation and a water rinse. Tends to give clean, transparent cups where origin character shows clearly., drained, and dried on raised African beds for 15-20 days.
