This is the green, unroasted version of our Flor Blanca II . Flor Blanca is back! This is our second lot of this coffee, and we gave the first roasts to our monthly subscribers . This classic Colombian geshaGesha (Geisha)A rare, jasmine-and-bergamot scented variety originally from Ethiopia's Gesha forest, made famous by Panama's Hacienda La Esmeralda. Routinely the most expensive coffee at auction. has the flavors we love — berries, peach jam, beautiful florals, and a rich, saturated quality. Scott tasted our first lot of this coffee at SCA Houston in April 2025, and now the latest crop is here! We also have a few sneaky bags from our April 27 subscription roast, rested and ready to ship! Anibal Sanchez grew this coffee at his farm La Siria, 5-hectares in the Huila region of Colombia. This land passed from Anibal's grandfather, to his father, to him and his sister. For many years, only caturraCaturraA natural dwarf mutation of Bourbon found in Brazil: compact plants, easier picking, bright and clean cup. A workhorse across Latin America. grew on their land, but through a family connection they sourced Panamanian gesha seeds. In 2021, Anibal won 2nd place with that geisha at the Colombian Cup of ExcellenceCup of Excellence (COE)A national competition and auction that identifies a country's best lots each year; winning 'COE' lots command dramatic price premiums.. As can be seen in the photo, this coffee is named "Flor Blanca" after the white flowers of the coffee tree. Ripe cherries were collected and sorted by density. After thorough washing, the beans dried for 20-24 days on raised beds. Process: WashedWashed processThe fruit is removed from the seed before drying, usually with fermentation and a water rinse. Tends to give clean, transparent cups where origin character shows clearly.
