Bambito Estate has been in Alberto Sittón’s family since the early 1900s. Alberto acquired the farm from his father in 1945, and today, Bambito is in its fifth generation as a family-owned business, led by Priscilla and her son Ivan. Located high up in the cloudy forests of Volcan Baru, Bambito Estate is nestled between two national parks and is intersected by two mountain ridges running from east to west, creating two distinct microclimates for coffee cultivation. This unique setting produces GeishaGesha (Geisha)A rare, jasmine-and-bergamot scented variety originally from Ethiopia's Gesha forest, made famous by Panama's Hacienda La Esmeralda. We have had the privilege of knowing the Sittón family since our first trip to Panama in 2010. At that time, they weren't producing enough Geisha to sell, but we recognized they had something truly special. Since their first exportable harvest in 2013, we have been purchasing Geisha coffee from Bambito Estate, and it consistently remains one of our favorites each year.
