Run by Ngiriambu Farmers Cooperative Society, Kiri Factory has over 3,555 members who deliver their fresh coffee cherries to this station. This offering is grown on small coffee gardens less than one hectare and has both SL28SL28A Kenyan variety selected in the 1930s by Scott Agricultural Laboratories, prized for intense blackcurrant acidity and deep sweetness. & SL34SL34SL28's sibling selection, also from Kenya's Scott Labs. Slightly less celebrated but hardier, with a similar juicy, complex cup. varieties. After farmers deliver their coffee to Kiri Factory it is sorted for density and ripeness, pulped and fermented for 24 hours, then washedWashed processThe fruit is removed from the seed before drying, usually with fermentation and a water rinse. Tends to give clean, transparent cups where origin character shows clearly. and soaked for another day. The coffee is then dried slowly over the course of 20 days, ensuring a bright and sweet cup with notes of watermelon, cola, and oolong. A bright and sweet delight.
