By the time Ritual started buying coffee from Nelson Ramirez, fifteen years ago, he was already known among his neighbors as a leader in coffee farming. Nelson is a talented agronomist who focuses not only on quality but also the environmental impacts of growing coffee. Year after year we have seen Nelson improve the infrastructure of his farm to include new drying beds, new processing equipment including tile lined tanks and channels, made famous by Kenyan coffee factories for improving quality and saving water, to wash his coffee.
