Tasting notes

Character

Abundant character with rich chocolate and roasted nut flavors with undertones of grilled lemon and cinnamon on the finish. The Beneficio San Diego is located in San José in the Tarrazú region of Costa Rica. Tarrazú holds the most coveted, highest altitude coffee farms in Costa Rica. The mill was initially established in 1888 and is currently the largest coffee mill in Costa Rica. The coffees selected for this lot are produced by over two thousand producers who cultivate traditional Caturra and Catuaí varieties. The refinements within the mechanization of processing and sorting at the beneficio offer an opportunity for the complexities of these varieties grown in the perfect Tarrazú terroir to shine at a reserved dark roast treatment. After repose, this coffee is sealed in Grain-Pro barrier packaging at origin and then sent on its way to our Roastery where we preserve the green coffee under hermetic seal until it is roasted as part of our Barrington Green Seal Program© .
