This expansive estate covers 506 hectares, with 360 hectares dedicated to coffee cultivation. After a period of low production, the farm has undergone significant refurbishment and now yields a substantially higher harvest, processed carefully at the Beneficio La Esperanza mill by Los Volcanes Coffee. The proximity to the active Fuego volcano means extra attention is needed to wash the cherries thoroughly, removing volcanic ash to protect the processing equipment. At Fjord, we appreciate this coffee’s bright and clean profile, enhanced by its washed processing method. The light roastLight roastRoasted just past first crack to preserve origin character: higher acidity, florals, and fruit, lighter body. The signature of Nordic-style roasting. highlights its delicate character and the unique qualities of the Marsellesa-Sarchimor variety grown here. It delivers a refined cup with subtle complexity, ideal for filter brewing. This coffee reflects both the remarkable terroirTerroirBorrowed from wine: the way a place — soil, altitude, climate, even neighboring crops — expresses itself in the cup, independent of variety and process. of Acatenango and the dedication of the producers to quality and innovation.
