Tasting notes
In a secluded corner of Bateia, Espírito Santo, Edineia Pires Sartori Fioresi and her husband, Valentim, manage the day-to-day labor of their beloved farm, Recanto Feliz — which translates to "Happy Corner" in English. Of their twelve hectares of land, four are dedicated to coffee. The land size is manageable enough that Edineia and Valentim don't hire outside labor; instead, they opt to harvest and process the farm's production on their own. The farm is planted with CatuaíCatuaíA Brazilian cross of Mundo Novo and Caturra: short, productive, storm-resistant. Sweet, mild, dependable — everywhere in Brazil and Central America., Catucaí, and Paraíso varieties, each cultivated in separate lots. This particular lot is a selection from the farm's Catucaí plants, which produce both yellow and red cherries. We sourced this coffee from our partners at Osito, who work diligently to find unique lots from some of Brazil's best smallholderSmallholderA farmer growing coffee on a small family plot — often under two hectares.
