Here, producers with small plots of land grow varieties like Colombia, CaturraCaturraA natural dwarf mutation of Bourbon found in Brazil: compact plants, easier picking, bright and clean cup. A workhorse across Latin America., and CastilloCastilloColombia's leaf-rust-resistant variety, bred by Cenicafé from Caturra and Timor hybrid. Long dismissed by purists, it now wins competitions when grown and processed well. on volcanic soil in ideal, temperate weather conditions. Jhony Albierto Chavez’s farm, La Casa, is in the Yacuanquer area of Nariño, where he grows Caturra trees. This coffee is bright and sweet, with notes of tropical fruit like pineapple, mango, and graham cracker. The communities surrounding the Galeras Volcano in Nariño are home to some of the most beautiful coffees in the world.
