About this coffee This coffee comes from Agri Evolve, a producer working with around 2,000 smallholder farmers in Uganda’s Rwenzori Mountains. Agri Evolve was founded in 2016 by Johnny Rowland after seeing the challenges many farmers were facing, from low prices to limited access to good processing. What started as a small collection point has grown into one of the region’s most advanced coffee operations, helping farmers earn more for their coffee while improving quality at every stage. By investing in better washing and drying facilities, Agri Evolve has been able to produce cleaner, higher-quality coffees while creating jobs and bringing more stability to the local community. In 2022, it opened the Nyabirongo Processing Station, helping to improve efficiency and support more farmers in the area. Agri Evolve also puts a strong focus on long-term sustainability, from distributing energy-efficient stoves and planting shade trees to providing improved coffee seedlings. Alongside this, it supports farmers with training, fair pricing, quality bonuses and digital tools that help them manage harvests and access services like microloans. It’s a thoughtful and progressive project, and one that’s producing coffees with real clarity, sweetness and character in the cup. Here’s a slightly more webshop-friendly version too, if you want it even more customer-facing: A bright and juicy washed Ugandan coffee with notes of wild berries, lemon sherbet and vanilla. Clean, sweet and well-balanced, this is an easy-drinking cup with a medium
