Fresh crop Ethiopia has finally landed, and we're kicking things off with this beautiful, complex and exciting lot from the Adorsi washing stationWashing stationA central mill where many smallholder farmers deliver cherry for processing. In Ethiopia, Kenya, and Rwanda the station name (e.g. Idido) often identifies the coffee. in Yirgacheffe. The Adorsi washing station is well known for its delicate and complex coffees. This lot from the nearby Aricha village is bringing all the florals, with a lovely sweet tropical fruit aroma. We find lots of deep purple florals up front, cooling to black tea, and a thick mango sweetness. We've been playing with this coffee a lot over the last few weeks, and every time we cup it we pick up something different.
