Single OriginSingle originCoffee from one traceable place — a country at the loosest, a single farm or lot at the strictest — rather than a blend of sources./Direct Trade/WWC/IWCA Tasting NotesTasting notesThe flavors a roaster perceives in the cup — 'jasmine, apricot, black tea'. Descriptive associations, not ingredients: nothing is added to the coffee.: Dutch cocoa, walnut and butterscotch Varietal: Obata This honey processHoney processThe skin is removed but some sticky fruit mucilage is left on during drying. Lands between washed and natural: more sweetness and body than washed, cleaner than natural. coffee is grown on the Zalmari Estate in the Cachi region of the Orisi Valley of Costa Rica. Surrounded by volcanic mountain ranges the low evening temperatures benefit the ripening of rich full-flavored beans. The Zalmari Estate was started by Ceci Genis a long time member of the IWCA (International Women's Coffee Alliance). She is passionate about women's empowerment, and her farm was the first to earn the WCC (Womens Care Certification). This certification is designed to improve the sustainable lifestyle for women involved with cultivating, processing, trading and exporting coffee.
